The car transmission is a complicated auto part system that enables to transfer of power from the engine to the driveshaft. It has many moving parts that produce heat and friction causing additional wear in the transmission system.
Replacing or mending the car transmission is difficult and inconvenient and it might cost you a lot. Hence, it is suggested that it would be better to stick to maintenance procedures that will help you to prevent issues and help your transmission perform better and take too long. The transmission is very touchy and will cause a lot of issues when removed or mismanaged.
Some problems include:
Humming and Clunking
This is a strange sound that you will hear from your car. This should be an alert signal to have your car diagnosed and if need be repaired sooner than later.
Shifting Delay
Sometimes when driving, the gear might be difficult to change or shift from drive to park. This hold up is a great transmission concern.
Shaking
If the car is not running steadily and instead you get some jerking, shaking and/ or grinding sounds, it is an indication that the transmission gears have an issue.
Burning Smell
Removing the transmission might be due to improper fitting which will cause the transmission fluid to overheat and cause burning smell.
Gear Slipping
When driving, different gears are involved and the car should remain in that gear until a switch is done. If you discover that the transmission is sliding in and out of gear while driving, you should be worried of your safety and take it to the nearest garage.
Dragging Clutch
This is usually seen on manual cars where the clutch disk fails to disengage the flywheel on pressing the clutch pedal.
Noisy Transmission in Neutral
The noise when the car is in neutral mode is mostly not of much concern and an inexpensive solution could be adding or changing some fluid. If it still not working, some parts might require repair and replacement.
